NCR Plus residents are now allowed to visit nearby provinces under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ). Those who are below 18 and above 65 years old and are required to take RT-PCR test before travel should they take commercial flights, says the Department of Tourism (DOT).
The Government’s task force against the pandemic allows travel until 15 June.
Local government units (LGUs) will have their respective interzonal regulations, travelers are advised to coordinate with destination, venue, or LGU before travel. Visit to Boracay will be under the supervision of the Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force.
MANILA — The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) allows local travelers from the NCR Plus—Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal—to carry out their travel plans in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) until the middle of June.
According to the Department of Tourism in a statement leisure travel will be point-to-point only, with no side trips. Pit stops or stopovers are allowed for eating and for personal necessities.
“We are looking forward to once again see our tourism destinations welcome tourists from the NCR Plus area. Of course, this has to be done with utmost precaution,” says Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat. (LO/The MiNT)
