Tarlac province has imposed a ‘lockdown’ after recording its first two confirmed COVID-19 cases, with at least 17,000 people under monitoring for possible infection.
Susan Yap, governor of Tarlac, said that one of the affirmed cases is a 75-year-old female from Barangay Patalan in Paniqui town. The other is a 39-year-old male from Barangay Pinasling in Gerona town.
The Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) finished the tests.
Located in Central Luzon, Tarlac presently has 17,040 people under observation, 174 patients under scrutiny with mild side effects, and 39 with severe manifestations.
Across the country, there are presently 2,633 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 51 recovered, and 107 deaths.
The enhanced community quarantine of Luzon will end on April 14.
