President Rodrigo Duterte warned that he would order the country’s police and military to kill anyone “who creates trouble” during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon to stop the spread of COVID-19.
He made a public address on Wednesday (April 1, 2020), hours after the arrest of 21 protesters in Quezon City.
The protesters said that they have not received ration or other relief supplies that the Duterte has promised.
“Remember kayong mga Left: You are not the government…. Kaya huwag kayo mag-gawa ng kalokohan at mag-riot-riot diyan because I will order you detained at bibitawan ko kayo pagkatapos na wala na itong COVID,” the President said.
At the time of writing, the Philippines has 3,018 confirmed cases, 52 recovered, and 136 deaths, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
