In the past few days since he had filed his candidacy for the senatorial derby in the 09 May elections, Partido Reporma senatorial bet Guillermo Eleazar has focused on enhancing peace and order throughout the country.
Innovating law enforcement functions and other police frontline services is part of his legislative agenda to continue efforts to reform and professionalize the Philippine National Police (PNP) to be able to immediately and efficiently respond to the needs of the people.
MANILA, Philippines — The former PNP chief made this commitment during his visit in Tagum, Davao del Norte. Local officials said they will support the retired general.
The local officials said they believe that Eleazar as a legislator would be able to perform as good as when he was the country’s ‘top cop’.
Eleazar expressed his intense desire to continue with what he had started in the PNP, including his Project E-Sumbong, wherein the power of various online platforms are now being used so that the public could easily lodge their complaints and that the police could hasten and improve their monitoring system.
He added that he will likewise push for a more extensive Project E-ACCESS in the PNP, that netizens could access to protect themselves from being victimized by cybercriminals and their cybercrimes.
“Iyong mga isusulong natin na mga programa o mga legislation, ‘yan naman po ay ating inaayos pa pero basically ito po will aggressively push for the state-of-the-art technology so that we can further improve the law enforcement functions as well as to improve the frontline services by the Philippine National Police,” Eleazar stressed in the short speech he delivered at the city’s plaza.
Eleazar underscored the importance of security as part of government’s strategy and agenda in the speedy recovery of the country’s economy.
“Masigla ang ekonomiya kung payapa at ligtas ang ating bayan at ating pamayanan,” Eleazar said. (TRC/The MiNT)
